“I’m passionate about colour, real materials and working with artisans,” Sebastian Herkner. With the Tricolore Vases, Herkner played with a spectrum of colors, gauging which third color would appear when the two colors overlap. He investigates how the colored glass would interact with sunlight and fine tunes the density of the glass to obtain the right nuance. In the color spectrum, Green represents peace, harmony and balance. The proportion of the Tricolore Vase is also harmonious and perfectly balanced – the prerequisite of good design. Herkner insisted on working with experienced glass blowers and artisans in fearing that one day their skills might be lost. Interesting, Green also signifies new growth and renewal, this vase will remind us of Herkner’s good intention.
